FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my first visit?

From the first day you join the office of Dr. Angela Berkovich, we will cater to your individual dental needs. As part of your first visit with us, you will fill out a comprehensive medical and dental history. These forms are important – they help determine the course for your treatment. We have to know about allergies, sensitivity to anesthetics, long-term medications – your whole health picture.

In addition, we’ll conduct a comprehensive examination and a periodontal evaluation. Full mouth x-rays are necessary in order to fully examine you, as it gives us a picture of the tooth structure above and below the gumline, as well as enabling us to evaluate the bone structure surrounding the teeth.

After gathering all of the necessary information, your treatment options and anticipated outcome will be reviewed with you. This allows you and Dr. Berkovich to develop a plan to achieve long-term comfort, health and appearance for your smile. Your oral care plan will be personalized to meet your goals at a pace that is practical for your lifestyle.

Dental emergencies can be unexpected and extremely uncomfortable. We always accommodate our patients as quickly as possible in order to alleviate pain and resolve the problem. If your first visit with us is a dental emergency, we will treat the area of concern and then recommend you return for the comprehensive exam described above.

Your active participation is necessary to achieve great dental health. We want to help you maintain your teeth for the rest of your life. But the key to the entire process is you. We know that a daily routine coupled with regular visits to a professional dental office will assure good dental health.
